The Company

The Almanda company was founded in 1990 in Amarynthos, Evia. Almanda started as a One Person Company  that was active in the sales of goods produced in Evia.

Mr Magoutas, after gaining a lot of experience from his professional activity abroad, founded the Almanda company. The decision was to return to his homeland and dedicate himself to the local business. His vision was to establish himself in the Greek market - with quality nuts and dried fruits, mainly from Evia and, secondarily, from the rest of Greece. His brothers are his allies in this endeavor.

At present, the Almanda company has reached a place among the largest companies in Greece that trade, process, standardize and export nuts and dried fruits worldwide. Having achieved its establishment in Greece and abroad as a reliable supplier of quality nuts and dried fruits, Almanda now sets new goals to gain recognition from the Greek general public, as well as its stable presence in foreign markets.

Almanda has one of the most modern facilities in the nuts industry. The company benefits from cutting-edge mechanical equipment and counts on staff with decades of know-how and experience in the processing of nuts. Thus, it manages to provide a wide variety of final products, suitable for every personal taste and every moment of the day.

Almanda supplies food industries, bakeries, restaurants, hotels, nuts stores, wineries, patisseries, grocery stores, supermarkets, small retail outlets, café-bars etc. Its products are delivered either directly or through its many partners. In addition, it is one of the first Members (Life member) of the International Council on Nuts and Dried Fruits (INC).

Key dates:
·1990: Foundation of the company
·1993: Nomination as Life member of INC (International Nuts & Dried Fruits Council)
·2000: Transformation into a PLC, expansion of activities and standardization
·2018: Relocation to new state-of-the-art facilities
·2020: Creation of a new logo and entry into new standard products with innovative packaging and placement in retail. Completion of the PV investment

Facilities / Certifications

With investments of 10 million euros, Almanda upgrades its services with new facilities and high-tech industrial equipment, starting from 2018.

The new privately owned facilities are located on a plot of 30,000m2 and cover 7,000m2 with a processing capacity of 14 tons / day.

The availability of vertical building facilities and production lines includes:

- Storage areas for raw materials
- Product sorting & peeling areas
- Area for product processing & packing
- Packing equipment for nuts & dried fruits with capacity starting  from a 30gr micro bag and reaching  to 1,200kg mega bag
- Cold Storage rooms for increasing final quality & life expectancy of products
- Storage areas for final products

The company is certified with EN ISO 9001/2015 and EN ISO 22000/2005 (HACCP), ensuring its product quality and consumer safety.

Suppliers

Raw materials are purchased from Greek and international producers, who have proven their reliability and stability of their products over time. The quality of the raw material is non-negotiable for us and in order to achieve better maintenance, all our raw materials are stored in dry refrigeration chambers.
